Welcome

I lead a group of audio engineers recording ensembles and soloists on location throughout the upper midwest. We provide recording services for symphony orchestras, choirs, bands, and chamber ensembles. Our team is experienced recording large productions for chorus, orchestra, and soloists. No project is too large or too small for us. In fact, we often record ensembles at multiple venues simultaneously. From solo harpsichord to grand opera, we are able to meet your needs on time and on budget.

Unparalleled Service

We are dedicated to capturing the best sound possible. This not only means using the finest equipment - we also take considerable time studying scores and listening to reference recordings prior to any session. Before rehearsals, we work with stage managers to determine the best location for main and spot microphones. Spots are placed inobtrusively so the focus is on the performers, not equipment. We work with conductors and musicians throughout every stage of the process, and we won't rest until everyone is pleased with the final result.

Testimonials

The recording that Edgar Crockett made for our performance with Chamber Music Quad Cities was of superb quality, with crystal clear sound and balance. He was very easy to work with and I would recommend him most highly for anyone looking to create a professional acoustic audio recording at the highest level.

David Bowlin, violin, Eastman Faculty

Having worked with Edgar for many years now -- in his capacities both as a performer and as a recording technician -- I can recommend him highly. His experience as a musician clearly informs his recordings, which have been excellent. Dr Crockett is that most rare combination: both eminently qualified and a pleasure to work with.

Ross Jallo, Director of Music (St Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport), Co-Director (Canterbury Concert Series)

Chamber Music Quad Cities has had only the best possible experiences with Edgar. He is thoroughly professional, dedicated to his craft, and very cheerful. We couldn't recommend him more highly!

Thomas Sauer, Co-Director, Chamber Music Quad Cities, Vassar Faculty

Edgar has recorded roughly a dozen Chamber Music Quad Cities concerts, and the quality has been uniformly top-notch. He is fastidious in his preparation, always courteous in our interactions, and very generous with his time and talents.

Gregory Sauer, Co-Director, Chamber Music Quad Cities, FSU Faculty

Edgar is laser focused on the quality and depth of sound in his audio recordings.

Matthew Kowalczyk, Quad City Symphony Orchestra Librarian

Having Dr. Crockett bring not only his technical expertise, but his musical ear for balance has been a boon for the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra. His dedication to producing the best possible audio performance has really helped the MSO share our performances throughout Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. He is also amazingly accommodating in adjusting levels that I might like to hear more or less in the overall balance of a particular movement, work or even the concert as a whole. We are incredibly grateful for his work already with us and look forward to our next season of concerts with him at the recording helm.

Brian Dollinger, Music Director and Conductor, Muscatine Symphony Orchestra

As a trumpet player, Edgar has an excellent understanding of the characteristic sound of brass instruments and knows how to capture that sound with his microphone placement and post processing techniques. He puts a lot of care and effort into his recordings and the results are consistently impressive.

Nicholas Propes, Director, Big River Brass Band

Edgar was professional and fun to work with throughout the entire recording process. He had a great rapport with the students, and the caliber of recording we got far exceeded my expectations! Having Edgar in to record my Chamber Orchestra was the best decision I ever made in getting a high quality recording of my students. He was great to work with, and definitely has the knowledge and experience in getting a great recording of an orchestra.

Zach Morton, Director of Instrumental Music, Moline High School

Edgar was extremely helpful and professional throughout our recording projects together. His video and audio recording of my performances was top notch, and was the reason for my success in my doctoral audition cycle! I will definitely seek out Edgar's services again in the future!
